Amsterdam was a delightful surprise! I truly fell in love with this city.
If you're planning a visit, take your time to explore each corner of this beautiful city, and perhaps, find your own hidden gems along the way.
Day 1:
My first stop: the Pulitzer Amsterdam where early check-in was a breeze ( key for jet lag after along flight) and I instantly loved the historic charm of the hotel!!
After settling in, I headed out to my first stop—the Anne Frank House. I feel like this is a must-do for any trip to Amsterdam
Standing in the secret annex, I was immersed in the profound story of Anne Frank and her family and their life during the Holocaust.
Tip:
If you're planning to visit, tickets go on sell six weeks in advance. Set an alarm because they sell out fast!
Next, I ventured to the Van Gogh Museum, marveling at the swirling colors of “Starry Night” - another bucket list item of mine.
I took a leisurely cruise with Pure Boats Amsterdam. Gliding along the canals ( with champagne! ) I soaked in the picturesque views of gabled houses and historic bridges—a serene experience capturing the essence of this vibrant city!.
As evening fell, I wandered through the lively Jordaan neighborhood. With its quaint streets, bustling art galleries, and cozy cafes, Jordaan's vibrant ambiance was the perfect end to a magnificent day.
Day 2: Amsterdam on the Run
My second day kicked off with an invigorating running tour with Go Running Tours. Jogging past iconic landmarks was exhilarating, and it was a wonderful way to soak in the city's vibe while keeping fit.
In the afternoon, I found myself in Vondelpark, the green heart of Amsterdam. Strolling through, I felt the city’s pulse slow down. Stop at one of the outdoor restaurants in the park for a glass of bubbly or a refreshing cocktail!
Culinary Scene
At a local restaurant, I tried a Dutch delight-bitterballen , These delicious morsels are a perfect introduction to Dutch cuisine.

Day 3: Tulips and Traditions
Start the day by visiting the Tulip Museum for unique gifts and learn all about the Dutch tulips!
A short walk led me to the Nine Streets—a network of quaint lanes filled with unique boutiques, vintage stores, and inviting cafes. It’s a shopper’s paradise.
The vibrant colors of the Bloemenmarkt, the famous floating flower market, were next. Rows upon rows of tulips in every shade imaginable made this a photographer’s dream.
My Amsterdam adventure concluded with a Genever tasting at Wynand Fockink. Learning about this traditional Dutch spirit and sampling its various flavors was not only fun but also the perfect toast to a memorable trip!
Tip: In the spring, I’d recommend an day trip to Lisse.
Biking along the tulip fields with Tulip Bicycle Tour was a breathtaking experience—one not to be missed if you visit during tulip season.
